PRINTMAKING PRACTICE
I love German Woodblock prints and monotype work. I love the textures and immediacy of this type of work. I think my enjoyment of charcoal is also satisfied by using these methods.

“Woman”. She began to emerge on one of my silk surfaces. I enhanced her with charcoal, photographed her, then made a simple monotype with a transparency and rice paper. I find her poignant, although I have no idea where in time she is from or who she was.

Ulladulla Harbour Monotype on A5 paper. This is my first proper monotype made with a pin press. I broke the rules immediately of course. I have used charcoal wash, ink, pen for this image.
